Hi.
An artist that was a great influence to me when I was first interested in
painting portraits was Amedeo Modigliani.
This was one of my early attempts at a portrait in his style.
Over at Artsy.net they have a designated Modigliani page
which features a biography and over 25 of his works.
To celebrate an up and coming exhibition of his work at Tate Modern
which runs from 23rd November 2017 - 2nd April 2018
I thought I would do another small portrait in his style.
I hope you will go check out the links and possibly gain some inspiration of your own.
Thanks for stopping by.

I love your work and although I don't know that famous artist's work, I can see why you're inspired. Love the feeling your portraits evoke.I love how you're weaving a story into your art. You should write children's books, your art would spotlight your words so beautifully. Visiting From PPF. Oh, my new blog is now live on my new wordpress site (justaddwatersilly.com) and I'm doing a giveaway tomorrow (Sunday). ReplyDeleteWonderful painting Carol - so expressive and such a strong, charismatic face. Love the smaller one you did too, the ochre and rust colours together work so beautifully.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for stopping by the other day, I have had a tricky year and just haven't managed to blog and get round to see friends - hopefully getting slowly back in the swing of things - I really appreciate your visit and comment.

Hey, it looks great! On matters of style, swim with the current, on matters of principle, stand like a rock.
ReplyDeleteMost people will never be great in #Style, BUT YOU ARE ;-).
