Klimt Inspired.

Hi

She is finally finished.

She was originally intended for an open exhibition at a local gallery.

Unfortunately it was not ready in time which is a shame as opportunities to see your work

hanging in a gallery don't come along very often.

The title of the exhibition was 'Sparkling Spring' and they asked that the artwork

should reflect that with the use of metallic's, foils etc.

I used metallic acrylic's in the background and in the flowers on her dress

but the glimmer doesn't come across well in the photo.

I started with acrylic paint and then went on to use coloured pencil.

I normally frame my paintings in modern frames with a mount (matt) but for this I am

considering a gold ornate frame without a mount.

If I can find a suitable frame I will share her again in a future post.

Thank you to everyone who visited last week for Paint Party Friday.

  2. I love how the dress and background compliment each other! And of course your girl is beautiful! ♥♥♥ (I wonder if the gallery might still accept it, sometimes they don't get enough entries......just thinking out loud.)

  3. Very beautiful indeed! Her eyes really say it all. A simple gold frame would set the painting off nicely.

  7. She's wonderful, the closeup shows all the colours you've used in her face which I really admire. She has a gentle character.
The background is perfect and your plans for framing sound excellent. Cheers and Happy PPF :D)
